In 2001, Petr Beránek's first atelier was destroyed in an arson attack, along with other artists' studios in the same street. To draw attention to their situation, the artists affected initiated the collective project Feu de signe. For this project Petr Beránek created large scale multicoloured linoleum prints, which were produced in the studios of the Ecomusée Voltaire in Geneva. On the basis of these prints Petr Beránek subsequently created his first lithographs, using an offset printing process on aluminium plates (instead of slates).

Petr Beránek's lithographs - like his pictures - are mostly abstract. In contrast to other artists, he usually only produces 13 prints.
